Assistant or Associate Professor of Graphic Design


Indiana Wesleyan University Division of Art + Design is seeking a colleague who has a desire to teach within a flourishing design program emphasizing a diversity of conceptual and technical design practices. These include majors in Graphic Design, Media Design and Design for Social Impact.

The Division of Art+ Design is an undergraduate program which includes 4 staff, 10 full-time faculty, 8 part-time faculty and over 200 students. We are currently one of the largest art programs in the Coalition for Christian Colleges and Universities. We offer majors in Graphic Design, Media Design, Design for Social Impact, Studio Art, Illustration, Photography, Pre-Art Therapy, and Visual Arts Education as well as 9 different minors.

The position will be open for the Fall of 2017, pending budget approval. Review of applications begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled. The final candidate selected must have the ability to pass a comprehensive background screen.


MFA preferred


Successful candidates will have current experience and expertise in one or more of the following areas: typography, interactive design, design thinking, information design, systems design, data visualization, design theory and social design. Other expectations include a record of professional design work, publications, and/or exhibitions. Alongside our talented students, you will be joining a community of artists, designers, and scholars who are preparing a new generation of design leaders. Known for its outstanding program, the IWU Art+ Design Division is committed to actively influencing the discourse on the frontier of new design thinking.
